The Minnesota Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (MRID) was established and incorporated in 1971 with the support and encouragement of the Minnesota Association of Deaf Citizens (MADC).

Every organization begins with an idea. That idea leads to discussion, meetings, and eventually the filing the proper paperwork to make it "official" with the state. Our roots can be traced to an idea within the MADC to create an interpreting organization. Through their work and support, meetings were established, which led to the adoption of the Bylaws and Articles of Incorporation of the Minnesota Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (MRID) during the first "Organizational Meeting" on April 24, 1971.  (History and Impact of the MRID 1971-2019 - Groven, Sydney)

MRID Board History

Annual Business Meetings have been held yearly to elect new board members, pass motions, and create a space for the community to gather. This is a collection of where and when those Annual Business Meetings occurred and who was elected to serve on the board from the first Annual Business Meeting on September 11, 1971 through today.
