About MRID

The Minnesota Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (MRID) is a non-profit organization of professional interpreters, consumers, and interested persons.  The organization was established and incorporated in 1971 with the support and encouragement of the Minnesota Association of Deaf Citizens (MADC).

MRID is a state affiliate chapter of the national organization, the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID).  As the professional association for sign language interpreters in the state of Minnesota, it is our goal to provide a structure for the continued growth and development of the professions of interpretation of American Sign Language and transliteration of English.
