Operations Director

Sierra Stewart, NIC

Lauren Hudson is a freelance interpreter living and working in the Twin Cities. She received a B.S. in Psychology from the University of Illinois and a B.A. in Linguistics from the University of Southern Maine. During her ITP, she served as the Student Rep on the MeRID Board. Since moving here in 2019, Lauren has been enjoying getting to know the Deaf and interpreting communities, and exploring all Minnesota has to offer. When she’s not working you can find Lauren cozying up at home with her husband, Matt, and two cats, Jax and Smudge.

Sierra (she/her) is a proud St. Catherine University graduate who has been interpreting in the Twin Cities since 2014. She specializes in mental health, medical, and educational interpreting. Sierra recently completed her Qualified Mental Health Interpreter practicum and certification during the summer of 2025. She first volunteered with MRID during the 2024 Fall Conference, serving as a committee member. Sierra enjoys playing competitive badminton, experimenting with film photography, and spending time with all the people and animals in her life (especially her cat, Nori).

Communications Director

Sage Magee

Sage Magee (they/she) is a graduate of St. Catherine University, where they earned a degree in Sign Language Interpreting. Sage is serving on the Board of Directors for MRID for the first time and is excited to learn and grow in this role. Their professional background is primarily in educational interpreting. Sage values collaboration, lifelong learning, and enjoys spending time with their loved ones.

Finance Director

Krista Anderson, NIC

Krista (she/her) graduated from Augustana University with a Bachelor's Degree in Sign Language Interpreting. Her involvement with MRID includes volunteering as a Conference Support Staff (CSS) in the 2014 MRID Conference in Rochester, the 2015 MRID Conference in St. Paul, and the 2018 RID Region III Conference in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She has also served as the 2020-2022 MRID Communications Director. Krista has a passion for supporting non-certified interpreters; she provides workshops and trainings focused on preparation for the CASLI Exams. Krista enjoys working out, traveling, trying new things, and spending time with her friends and family.

Community Relations Director

Gilda Houck-Markovits, EIPA

Gilda Houck-Markovits brings curiosity, compassion, and creativity to everything she does. She is driven by a love of learning and the belief that communication should always be inclusive and empowering. Gilda has served on the MRID Board of Directors since 2024, first as Communications Director and later stepping into the Community Relations Director role in 2025. Her mission in this role is to strengthen the interpreting community by promoting MRID and recognizing its responsibility to uplift the profession, support member engagement, and foster meaningful connections between interpreters and the communities they serve.
Gilda earned her Bachelor’s degree in Deaf Education from The Evergreen State College and an Associate of Applied Science in Interpreting from Saint Paul College. With an EIPA score of 4.7, she has built a career rooted in access and connection, specializing in educational interpreting while continuing to explore the expanding worlds of mental health and DeafBlind interpreting.

Member Director

Andi Hartman, CI/CT, NAD III

Andi Hartman, She/Her, BA, CI/CT is a certified American Sign Language interpreter with 26 years of professional experience and a longtime leader in accessibility, equity, and inclusion. She holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Deaf and Multicultural Studies from the University of Minnesota and currently works as a Global Integration Consultant at Sorenson Communications.

Andi is a committed advocate for equity, accessibility, and professional growth within the interpreting field. As Membership Director for the Minnesota Registry of Interpreters of the Deaf (MRID), she is passionate about strengthening member engagement, supporting interpreters at all stages of their careers, and fostering a connected, informed, and values-driven professional community. Her vision is to grow the future pipeline of interpreters as diverse as the communities we serve.

Her community leadership extends beyond MRID through service on advisory boards and nonprofit boards focused on health equity, racial healing, and accessibility. Across all her work, Andi centers relationship-building, thoughtful dialogue, and the belief that access and inclusion are foundational to strong communities.
